Human Trafficking Ambassador at Vanguard University

 

The President’s Office was pleased to announce that Vanguard University’s Center for Women’s Studies hosted  Rep. Loretta Sanchez and the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force for a “Human Trafficking Town Hall” meeting on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at Newport Mesa Church. 

Ambassador Luis CdeBaca who is the Director of the State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking In Persons, which assess global trends, provides training and technical assistance, and advocates for an end to modern slavery was on campus and leading the discussion for this Town Hall meeting.  Ambassador CdeBaca was appointed by President Obama to coordinate US government activities in the global fight against contemporary forms of slavery and serves as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State. 

The Town Hall was designed to give the Orange County community a forum to express their concerns on the issue of human trafficking with the Ambassador. 

Thank you to all who joined President Taylor in welcoming Representative Sanchez and Ambassador CdeBaca to Vanguard.  The Town Hall was open to the Vanguard Community and the Orange County community at large.
